I went and ran my big mouth online, pledging to post on here at least three times a week, and I'm going to try to stick to it. When I jump on here, it really doesn't seem like a lot because there's always a lot to write about in terms of music.
One thing that we talked about on the podcast this week was the old Live 105 from the 90s. Ah, those were the days. I credit my music appreciation not to my Fine Arts classes in junior high school, but rather from listening to Live 105. I cannot count the number of new artists that I discovered on there -- that were played seemingly months if not years before they ever made a name for themselves. The short list that comes to mind includes Rage Against the Machine and Sublime. *sigh*
I know there's a lot to say about mythologizing the station as it was, and it probably wasn't nearly as great as I remember it. Unfortunately that memory of it clouds my judgment when listening to any local radio station. Though, to be fair, the number of different songs played by most stations these days sure seems like it could be counted one's fingers and toes. Seriously. :)

Way to go Jordy! I'm listening to the latest ep right now as I type this... about to take the dog for a walk. It's been fantastic so far.
Since I had so much fun with my one guest DJ appearance, I'm thinking about doing my own similar podcast as well. ;)

Yup, I'm listening to the podcast right now, too - most of the way through it at the moment.
So far I've very much enjoyed this podcast. The music downloading/RIAA chat was interesting. I had no idea Mark's views on sharing music and podcasting mirrored my own so closely. Who'd've thunk?
I was also glad to find out I wasn't the only freak out there that absolutely loved the flip side of Joshua Tree. That's one of those tapes that I completely wore out due to listening to it so much.
More randomness as I listen further: Temple of the Dog was catalyzed by the overdose death of the guy from Mother Love Bone. (Andrew Wood?)
Anyway, enough rambling. I shall go listen to the end of the show now!
Oh, and Jordy: Three times a week? Ambitious!

Yeah. If he's not careful, we might _ALL_ be guilted into posting that often. :)
