David Byrne interview with Thom Yorke. Yes you read that right. No I'm not drunk!

Check out this awesome article in Wired which is a conversation between David Byrne and Thom Yorke about "In Rainbows" and the nature of music and the industry...
My only complaint is that the article is too short. I could read this for days. There are some really great thoughts in there, some of which we've alluded to in previous 3Guys shows.
I love both Byrne and Yorke, so this is mana for me, but anyone interested in alternative music delivery, or digital rights, etc, should check this out.

Ok, so I've listened to the last couple shows with the "new" format, and I guess it's time for me to throw my $0.02 in.

I think the format is getting to be more what you guys actually had in mind when you started the podcast: discussion and insight on your favorite music. That is a Good Thing(tm), especially since you guys are serious music geeks and audiophiles. You're getting the chance for more talk (it seems) on the how and why of the music, and like I said, I'm pretty sure that's the whole intention of the podcast.

However, it's getting away a tiny bit from what I was really digging from the show, which was exposure to new variety (different groups, heck, even whole new generes sometimes) in my listening world. I don't really know anything about music 'cept that I like listening to it, so I particularly benefit from the "more music, interesting tidbits" format rather than the "carefully selected tracks, in-depth mechanics of the music" format.

The actual lenght of the show is about the same I've noticed..don't know if that was intentional or not. Also, I doubt that I need to mention it, but it sounded on the last show as if someone was either a little CPU starved or bandwidth clipped as the audio wasn't as good as usual, or maybe I'm hearing artifacts of a VBR encoding gone wrong. I didn't bother importing the MP3 to Audacity this time to take it apart but can if it would be helpful.

Anyway, that's all just off the top of my head. I obviously haven't put much thought into it but will go back and listen to a couple old shows and see if any other insight pops to mind when I have some time. Hope this is helpful!
